Evacuations have been ordered for the Westridge area of Stevenson Ranch. The three schools in the area are being evacuated. Including West Ranch High School, Rancho Pico Jr. High and Oak Hills Elementary School, students are being bussed to College of the Canyons. Parents can pick up their children at the College of the Canyons cafeteria. Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for all of Westridge – evacuation shelter is at Valencia High School.
The Rye Fire continues to grow, more than 500 acres have burned. Power outages have impacted the 9-1-1 system. All 9-1-1- calls are being rerouted, please be patient, dispatchers will need additional information.
All of Rye Canyon Loop has been evacuated.
High winds continue to fan the flames of the Rye Fire which has burned more than 500 acres and caused several spot fires in the area. Power is out throughout several areas within the City. Several businesses in the area have been evacuated. Please avoid the area and if you are nearby please be prepared to evacuate if needed.

Interstate 5 from Newhall Ranch Road to Hasley Canyon
Old Road from Newhall to Hasley Canyon
Trinity Classical Academy
West Creek Academy is closed and parents are being asked to pick up their children
The Old Town Newhall Library is closed and phone service is out at all other City libraries
The Rye Fire evacuation center has been set up in the multipurpose room at Valencia High School (27801 Dickason Dr.).
The Boston Scientific building (25155 Rye Canyon Loop) has been evacuated.
Five (5) schools are without power, but NOT evacuated: Mountainview, West Creek, Valencia, Rio Norte, Trinity.
The Rye Fire burning in Santa Clarita has grown to 200 acres as of 10:44 a.m.
Newhall Ranch Road is currently CLOSED between the 126 and Rye Canyon Road.
